World's first wave farm now generating power for 1,500 homes

The elongated metal contraptions bob up and down with the waves, while internal pistons, attached to the sea floor, remain stationary and pump hydraulic fluid. This drives electric generators, whose power is brought ashore by underwater electrical cables. The wave farm is now tapping into enough constant, renewable energy to power 1500 homes.

Making cold out of hot is easier than one might think

"A group of students last year at San Jose State University built a solar-powered ice maker with $100 worth of plumbing and a four-by-eight-foot (1.2-by-2.4-meter) sheet of reflecting steel. No moving parts, no electricity but give it a couple hours of sunshine and it can make a large bag of ice."

I'm Cruising in 2008

When I use cruise control in my 2008 Audi A4 I get 36 miles per gallon. That is 4 miles more than the expected highway mileage for this vehicle.

Learning how your cruise control operates can be difficult, so definitely consult your owner's manual. Now that I'm comfortable with it, I also use it on neighborhood streets. Doing so I've seen my gas mileage double. Cruise control also reduces wear and tear on your car.

Why Pharma Fears Social Networking

Article: Brandweek Article

Where is the best pharmaceutical discussion?

Geo-Thermal

I have a friend building a home in Bethesda, Md which will take advantage of geo-thermal. Says he expects it to cost $40 per month to heat and cool his home.

How much energy can be derived from geo-thermal?

Are there any communities banning together to share the costs & benefits of this energy source?
