When I use cruise control in my 2008 Audi A4 I get 36 miles per gallon. That is 4 miles more than the expected highway mileage for this vehicle.
Learning how your cruise control operates can be difficult, so definitely consult your owner's manual. Now that I'm comfortable with it, I also use it on neighborhood streets. Doing so I've seen my gas mileage double. Cruise control also reduces wear and tear on your car.
